Amy’s father, Hansjoerg, is the founder of Synthes, a medical equipment firm. Amy worked with the company for some time before the company was acquired by Johnson & Johnson back in 2012 for $20 billion (both cash and stocks). She benefited from the sale but the amount she earned at the time was not revealed. However, the world got a little peek into her fortune when the US government decided to investigate an offshore tax evasion scheme. At least, the Wyss family was not implicated in the case.
