After moving to the Senior PGA Tour, Couples’ victory took on the same success trail as before. He went on to win the 2011 Senior Players Championship and, by the following year, won the Senior Open Championship. In 2013, Couples was nominated for the World Golf Hall of Fame and held the number one golfer in the world position for over 16 years. History would see the star becoming one of the most affluent players in the history of the game. He led in earnings in the PGA Tour in 1992, and even though he has not had major championship wins up his sleeve, he did pretty well for himself. The South African native player has done extremely well for himself throughout his career, with nine major championship wins each in both the regular tour and the Champions Tour. At the impressive age of 29, Gary was the only non-American player to win all four major championship titles, what many call Grand Slam. In addition, he has more than 160 tournament wins throughout his career. Gary was the youngest player to achieve this feat at the time but has since lost that title to another player (only five players now achieving this feat).
